You can sign up and be hired for free and you can pick which position are pay level you are comfortable with. If you have skills and talent and want to work, Elance is the place to find clients who pay for great results.
If you've been having trouble landing a virtual assistant project because you do not have experience working from home or working as a virtual assistant then Elance is the perfect resource to get you started. You will find plenty of entry level projects that you can complete for real pay and references.
After you complete one or two Elance projects you will find that larger employers will become more interested in your resume which will lead to more (and better!) job offers.

Elance makes money when the work is delivered and payments are made through Elance. When Clients make payments to their Provider(s), Elance deducts between 6.75% and 8.75% from each payment to cover its Service Fee and Payment Processing costs, transferring the remaining amount directly to the Provider’s Elance account.
